LIVE STOCK MARKET: Asian Shares Lower


The market has opened higher Wednesday amid global uncertainty  The Sensex is up 71.48 points or 0.3 percent at 27307.14 and the Nifty is up 22.40 points or 0.3 percent at 8420.40.

Tata Motors, HDFc, Axis Bank, Cipla and Tata Steel are top gainers while Coal India, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Auto, Lupin and HUL are losers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 67.93 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close of 67.95 against the US dollar.

The pound soared against the softening dollar, to trade at USD 1.2355, earlier trading as high as USD 1.2415. Down Under, the ASX 200 fell 0.55 percent in early trade, weighed heavily by its heavily-weighted financials sub-index. 

Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 0.39 percent as the dollar/yen falls below the 113 handle and as financial stocks weigh.
