The BSE Sensex opened higher by 110 points at 31331, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 30 points at the 9645 mark.
Ambuja Cements is top Nifty gainer and Hero MotoCorp is top Nifty loser in morning hours on Tuesday. Ambuja Cements was trading at Rs 252.4 per share up by 2% and Hero MotoCorp was trading at Rs 3741 per share down by 0.93%.
Nifty50 index has immediate barrier placed in the region of 9,650-9,660, and if it holds above this level, it may scale up to the levels of 9,700-9,710, whereas on the downside, supports are seen at the levels of 9,550-9,560.
The Indian rupee opened at 64.80 per USD versus 64.88 appreciating by 8 paise in previous trading session.
