Opening Bell - Markets open lower; Cochin Shipyard to list today

The BSE Sensex opened lower by 265 points at 31,355, while the Nifty50 opened lower by 97 points at 9,712 mark.
 
Tech Mahindra was top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 409.40 per share up by 1.34% while Tata Motors was top Nifty loser trading at Rs 362.10 per share, down by 4.76%. There were 133 advances, 1372 declines and 389 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting fairly negative sentiments floating in the market.
 
Nifty pharma is the top loser among sectoral indices on NSE. Piramal Enterprises is the top loser in the index trading at Rs 2653.30 per share, down by 2.8%.
 
On the broader market, BSE Mid-cap index opened at 14,674 level, down by 200 points while BSE Small-cap index opened at 14,747 level, down by 320 points.
 
The rupee opened at 63.20 per US Dollar on Friday. 

JKumar Infraprojects and Prakash Industries will resume their trading from today after SAT stayed trading restriction imposed on them.
Shares of Cochin Shipyard is going to list today.
