Share market update: Auto shares mixed; Bajaj Auto down over 1%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Bharat ForgeNSE 1.18 % (up 1.70 per cent), TVS Motor CompanyNSE 1.37 % (up 0.81 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.38 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (up 0.26 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Bajaj Auto (down 1.30 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.71 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (down 0.48 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.36 per cent) were trading trading lower.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 64.30 points at 11,433.60 while the BSE Sensex was down 217.32 points at 38,059.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red

Shares of PC Jeweller, Suzlon Energy, ICICI Bank, YES Bank, DHFL, Vodafone Idea, Dish TV India, Tata Motors, Federal Bank and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
