NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Monday's morning session despite muted May auto sales numbers on account of sluggish consumer demand.
Shares of Hero MotoCorp (up 4.02 per cent), Bajaj AutoNSE 2.74 % (up 2.26 per cent), TVS Motor CompanyNSE 1.27 % (up 1.43 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (up 0.67 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
MRF (up 0.52 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.51 per cent), Exide Industries (up 0.42 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.37 per cent) too were trading higher.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, NCC, YES Bank, Indian Oil Corp, GMR Infra, PNB, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, DHFL and HPCL were among the most traded shares on the National Stock Exchange.
