BUZZING STOCK: Share price of Vedanta rose 4 percent intraday ahead of board meeting for fund raising plan.
A meeting of duly constituted committee of the board is scheduled to be hold on November 22, to consider a proposes to offer rated secured redeemable non-convertible debentures worth Rs 300 crore. Also, the company is looking to raise captive power generation capacity.
The Sensex is up 237.10 points or 0.9 percent at 26002.24 and the Nifty is up 75.25 points or 0.9 percent at 8004.35.
GAINERS AND LOSERS: Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Maruti, ONGC and Tata Steel are top gainers while NTPC, Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddy's Labs, HDFC Bank and L&T are losers in the Sensex.
