Singapore trading sets stage for positive start
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading 13 points, or 0.11 per cent, higher at 11,750, indicating a positive start for Dalal Street.
Tech view: Nifty forms small bullish candle
The index formed a small bullish candle on the daily chart and saw formation of higher high higher low for the second straight day. Analysts believe the ongoing consolidation may continue until the index breaks out from the 11,550-11,761 zone. A closing above 11,710 may instil confidence, they said.
Asia stocks hover below 9-mth peak
Asian stocks hovered below a nine-month peak on Tuesday after disappointing bank earnings dented Wall Street, though recent signs the global economy is likely to avoid a sharper downturn helped limit the losses. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan stood little changed. Japan's Nikkei nudged up 0.25 per cent.
Oil extends losses into second session
Oil prices edged down on Tuesday after a Russian minister said the nation and OPEC may boost crude output to fight for market share, checking a recent sharp rally driven by tighter global production. Brent crude oil futures were at $71.08 a barrel, down 10 cents, or 0.1 per cent, from their last close.
US stocks ended lower
The Dow Jones Industrial Average on Monday decreased 27.53 points, or 0.10 per cent, to 26,384.77. The S&P 500 fell 1.83 points, or 0.06 per cent, to 2,905.58. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 8.15 points, or 0.10 per cent, to 7,976.01.

Shares of Polycab India will be listed on BSE and the National Stock Exchange on Tuesday after a blockbuster IPO, which subscribed around 52 times last week. The public offer was opened for subscription during April 5-9 with a price band of Rs 533 to Rs 538.
